Zombie Dream
I suddenly remembered this dream I had a couple of days ago.
I was being chased by zombies around what was supposed to be Seattle Center. If that was the only part of it, it would have been your typical, cheesy nightmare. One of those ones where I'm more inclined to think, "Oh, for heaven's sake" then actually be scared. My vision was clouded around the edges whenever we stepped out into the sun, so I didn't even have to look at them so long as I kept running away.
The strange part was that there was a child with me. This little blond kid, can't have been more than five or six years old. He never said anything, but I was under the impression that I had to keep him safe. At one point we ran into a series of dark, twisting tunnels that looked more like man-made concrete caves than anything. We had to depend on our ears to figure out which tunnels were secretly hiding zombies around the corner and which ones were safe. I picked which direction to go in most of the time, but the little boy would tug me towards another tunnel if I took too long to decide. At one point we took a wrong turn and the tunnel started getting very dark, and some small, shadowy things (rats?) started running out of a heating duct close to the floor. Shadowy figures showed up around the corner and the kid clutched onto my shirt and determinedly pulled me in another direction.
We got out of the tunnels after that, and the boy curled up and hid inside a statue (since there are lots of weirdly-shaped statues around Seattle Center). I was stuck outside, though, and dropped my bag. I almost got nabbed by a zombie while I tried to get it, but I woke up before I could see if I got eaten alive or not. :|
